OUTLIER ELECTRIC VEHICLES
Creative Director — Lucas Group The Context: OUTLIER was an R&D-stage electric recreational vehicle concept built around proprietary graphene battery technology, requiring strategic positioning for entry into a $100B global EV market dominated by legacy automakers and well-funded competitors. The Mandate: Translate complex, next-generation battery innovation into a clear, credible brand and go-to-market strategy capable of engaging investors, partners, and early adopters. The Work: Led end-to-end brand and go-to-market strategy for OUTLIER, grounding positioning in a deep understanding of graphene technology and manufacturing feasibility. Built custom AI-enabled research workflows to identify and evaluate global graphene producers, accelerating competitive intelligence and informing strategic direction. Conducted independent R&D research across China — including Hong Kong, Shenzhen, Dongguan, and Changzhou — meeting directly with CEOs and technical leaders at advanced materials companies to assess performance, scalability, and supply-chain realities. These insights directly shaped brand strategy, messaging, and product architecture. Directed a cross-functional team of 8 through concept-to-investor-ready development, defining a future-facing brand identity and a Four Elements product line architecture (Fire, Water, Earth, Air) to clearly communicate graphene’s advantages over traditional lithium-ion systems. Oversaw a $250K R&D creative budget while coordinating across Lucas Group subsidiaries through pre- and post-pandemic market shifts. The Outcome: Delivered a fully investor-ready brand and market-entry framework that made complex graphene technology accessible and compelling to non-technical audiences. The work generated interest from industry players and established strategic credibility with potential partners, creating a strong foundation for future funding, manufacturing alignment, and product development.
